Founded in 1990, the Buğday organisation, in order to better work towards its ideal of a society which is aware of its role as part of an ecologic whole, decided to take on a formal status as an association on 12th August, 2002 under the name Buğday Association for the Support of Ecological Living.

To achieve this ideal Buğday's mission has become to "create good examples", "support what already exists" and "encourage the availability of information".

It is Bugday's intention to create awareness of and sensitivity to ecological living in both individuals and in society as a whole and to offer solutions to the problems which arise with irrevocable consequences from the speed and manner in which the ecological balance is being disturbed.
